Sr. M. Benedicta

Sr. M. Benedicta is a native of Arizona. After serving the Carmelites of the Divine Heart of Jesus in Sittard, Netherlands, for 17 years, she has returned to St. Louis as Provincial of the Central Province. 

Ruth Dotson, Administrator

Ruth joined St. Agnes Home as Assistant Administrator in April of 2014 and was made Administrator in August of 2016. Her professional background combined with her vibrant enthusiasm is a true gift. Since 1994, Ruth has worked in various positions in the long term care setting, including Occupational Therapy and serving as Regional Director for several therapy companies. Ruth obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration and became a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in 2005. Serving in this capacity, Ruth later advanced to Vice President of Health Services and Executive Director. In this position she was responsible for organizational growth, program development, strategic planning, operations, management, and finance. With such a valuable background, St. Agnes Home is blessed to have her warm and caring personality. Ruth loves being with Seniors and meeting their needs. In her own words, "There is no greater gift than having a family entrust their loved one to our care."

Sr. Mary Faustina, Social Services Designee

Sr. Mary Faustina entered the Carmelite Sisters DCJ in August 1999. She entered with a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Nursing. After her initial formation, she began in our nursing department as a charge nurse and then progressed into social services. She has been stationed in our homes in Kentucky and Texas as well as nursing supervisor and as RN consultant, respectively. Sister's describes her position as full of surprises as she encounters various departments in her role. She jokingly says that she stays out of the maintenance department, though, leaving it to our maintenance men! Sister's favorite part of working at St. Agnes Home is having Jesus present in the Blessed Sacrament and the joy of having our residents here with us.

Michael Kress, CFRE, MA, Director of Mission Advancement

Michael joined St. Agnes Home in February, 2017. He is a magna cum laude graduate from Grand Valley State University, an international scholar receiving the DAAD Bundestag scholarship to Germany and a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship to Austria. He graduated from the Heidelberg University, Germany, in 2007 with a dual-M.A. in History and German. He completed his education by serving as SLCL Doctoral Studies Fellow at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Since 2005, Michael has been working in development, alumni and education. Michael is a convert to the Catholic faith. A previous volunteer at St. Agnes, Michael shares, “I am so blessed to work in a place that radiates His joy."

Jessica Decker, MSN, RN, Director of Nursing

Jessica joined our St. Agnes Home family in January 2014 as Nursing Informatics Coordinator. Her natural talent for leadership and excellent care was quickly noticed and she advanced to Staff Development Coordinator and eventually Director of Nursing in August 2014. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Austin Peay State University, an RN Degree from Aquinas College, and a Master's of Science in Nursing Degree from the University of Phoenix. Jessica has a strong background in Cardiac Intensive Care and has worked in Oncology and Brain Injury Rehabilitation. While serving eight years in the U.S. Army as a Military Intelligence Analyst, she met her husband. The two have three daughters and belong to St. Joseph's Parish in Manchester, MO. In Jessica's own words- "I feel that being a nurse is an honor, and I am blessed to work in a facility that allows me the opportunity to serve others in the name of Jesus."

Sr. Anna Maria, Activities Director

Sr. Anna Maria entered the Carmelite Sisters of the Divine Heart of Jesus in 1998. With her loving, vivacious, and outgoing personality, she has served as an assistant teacher at our Carmelite Child Development Center and as a C.N.A. and C.M.T. at St. Agnes Home throughout the years. In 2011, she began assisting full time in our activities department where she became Director in 2014. Growing up on a Kentucky farm, Sister is down-to-earth and adept at working with various personalities. A constant encouraging support to our residents, families, and staff, she loves giving a smile to all she meets.

Areal Mitchell, Human Resources Director

Areal joined St. Agnes Home in September 2015. She holds a B.A. in Business Administration from DeVry University, and a M.A. in Human Resources Management and a M.A. in Management and Leadership from Webster University. Prior to St. Agnes Home, Areal worked as an HR director at Stearns Nursing and Rehab Center in Granite City, Illinois, and as an HR generalist at St. Charles Community College. She sincerely appreciates St. Agnes Home's warm and peaceful environment in which she can openly express her faith. Areal enjoys writing, traveling, and spending time with family, especially her little son! She truly believes that God led her to this position and we are blessed to have her as part of our staff!

Willie Palmer, Dietary Supervisor

Taking great care of our residents with a smile is our dietary supervisor, Willie Palmer. With his easy-going and friendly personality, Willie does anything for anybody in a heartbeat. Back in 1989, Willie found out about our home through the head cook. He was best friends with the cook's son. In July 1989, Willie visited his friend here at St. Agnes Home. One of our employees, a biological sister of our late Sr. Mary Rose, asked who Willie was. He was hired right on the spot...and has been here ever since! Willie believes that the several of the Sisters in the past "took him in like a son". Willie states had he has learned a lot from his work here at St. Agnes Home. He enjoys the residents, sisters, and the environment. Even when offered jobs in other avenues, Willie has stayed faithful to his calling here at St. Agnes. He says that he feels "love and passion here, it's a great place, great people." He calls our home, "the right fit for me".

Amanda Griffith, Business Affairs

In 1998, Amanda began working for the Carmelite Sisters D.C.J. at Carmelite Child Development Center as an assistant teacher while studying accounting on the side. After filling in as bookkeeper for the daycare in 2006, her talent with numbers was discovered and she soon took up a position in Agnes Home’s business office where her skill and organization have been appreciated ever since. Amanda lives in High Ridge with her two daughters and son.

Yvonne Walker, Resident Advocate

When Yvonne took a position at St. Agnes Home as business manager in 1980, little did she know that it was just the beginning of a long service to the home in which she would wear many hats. After several years in the business office and acquiring her administrator’s license, Yvonne became administrator. After 10 years she moved from administration into the social service department and later became St. Agnes Home’s activities director. In 2014, she was named St. Agnes Home's Resident Advocate. Outside of Yvonne’s outstandingly dedicated service to St. Agnes Home, she and her husband attend St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Fenton where she has held several offices in the Mother’s Club and St. Ann’s Sodality.

Dijana Miskovic, Housekeeping Supervisor

Dijana joined us in 2000 after many years as a stay at home mother. After gaining experience in our laundry department and working for a short time as a housekeeper at the Carmelite Child Development Center on the same campus, Dijana was made the head of the housekeeping/laundry department in 2006. Dijana shares with all that she loves her job here. She is valued for her leadership skills, enduring flexibility, and ready smile. Dijana and her family attend St. Joseph’s Croatian Church in Soulard.

Fr. Dennis M. Doyle, Chaplain

Fr. Doyle was appointed chaplain of St. Agnes Home in June of 2014. He has served in many capacities since his ordination to the priesthood. Among his many assignments, he has helped form men for the priesthood as a Spiritual Director, House Confessor, and Director of Spiritual Formation at Cardinal Glennon College since 2006. He received his B.A. in 1987 from St. Louis University and a Master's in Divinity in 1992 from Kenrick-Glennon Seminary. In 2003, Father also received his license in Canon Law from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome. Fr. Doyle is also a member of the Metropolitan Tribunal. The residents truly appreciate having a full-time chaplain here at St. Agnes Home to provide for their spiritual needs.

Matthew Stack Jr., Senior Maintenance Consultant

Matt, a full-time St. Louis County firefighter since 1976, began his career at St. Agnes Home in 1981 on a part-time basis as contract labor to paint and repair plaster. It wasn’t long before an endless “to do” list generated from the home’s administrator, Sr. Mary Patrick, evolved into a permanent position and eventually a full-blown department. Wearing many hats around St. Agnes Home, Matt handles all of the home’s maintenance needs, repairs, inspections, and coordinates and oversees new construction…or anything else that the Sisters and staff may ask of him. Matt continues to have a dual career balancing his time between work and his growing family. He and his wife, Denise, have been married for 40 years and have three adult married children and five grandchildren. Matt has said that he will eventually become a resident of St. Agnes Home!

Dejan Gligoric, Director of Maintenance / IT

Dejan started at St. Agnes Home in 2002. He began in Dietary where he worked until 2012 when he joined the Maintenance Department. Dejan took over IT in 2014 and is now the Director of Maintenance as of 2018.
