• Does my loved one have to be Catholic to move into St. Agnes Home?

Anyone over the age of 65, regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, citizenship, marital, or veteran status, is welcome at St. Agnes Home.

  • Would my loved one have to leave St. Agnes Home when their needs demand more nursing care?

The majority of our residents remain with us to the end of their days.  On occasion, a resident may require skilled rehab and then return to St. Agnes Home. If a resident develops the need for more complex nursing care such as respirator, IV therapy, becomes exit seeking, or poses a threat to the safety of themselves or others, we will do our best to support the family in finding a more appropriate home to support the changing needs of their loved one.

  • How do I know whether my loved one can afford to live at St. Agnes Home? Does St. Agnes Home accept Medicaid funds?

St. Agnes Home is a private pay community and does not have Medicare or Medicaid certified beds.  After applicants submit the confidential financial statement, the likelihood of sufficient funds for the appropriate level of care is examined on a case-by-case basis prior to admission.  Supplemental resources may include Veterans’ Benefits, long term care insurance, and more.

  • If my loved one moves into St. Agnes Home can they keep their own doctors?

Residents are welcome to keep their own doctors, but the family accepts the responsibility of transporting to outside doctor appointments.  Residents have the option of switching to one of our house doctors who make regular visits to monitor their patients’ health status. Podiatrists and dentists also make in-house visits, a convenience that many residents appreciate.

  • Will St. Agnes Home host respite residents?

Yes. The regular admission paperwork and process will need to be completed, but we are happy to accommodate short stays at St. Agnes Home while family or caregivers are away.

  • What are visiting hours at St. Agnes Home?

There are no set visiting hours. This is our Residents' home, and we want guests to feel welcome. Special accommodations need to be made for visitors prior to 6:30 a.m. and after 8:30 p.m. since the front door is locked.

  • Are medicine administration services available?

LPN’s, RN’s, and Certified Medication Technicians (CMT's) provide this service to all residents 24/7.

  • Are social and cultural activities organized for residents?

In addition to Daily Mass, all traditional Catholic services and Sacraments are available to our residents. Our Activities team also creates a weekly calendar of events for our residents that ranges from happy hour, outings, musical entertainment, crafting, birthday parties, exercise, movie matinees, the ever-popular bingo, and much more!

  • Do you have Beauty Shop/Barber services available?

Stylists are available three days a week and are happy to assist with most traditional services such as wash, set and style, permanents, haircuts, color, and manicures.

  • What if my loved one can no longer be best supported in an Assisted Living apartment?

When residents needs require more attention with some of the Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), our Enhanced Care Program allows them to receive that extra boost of support right in their Assisted Living apartments. When needs further increase, our Care Center, similar to Nursing Home care, is available to provide 24-hour licensed nursing care.

  • Are therapy services available?

If a doctor orders a resident to receive Physical, Occupational, or Speech therapy, we have on-site, contracted therapists available to meet those needs, Monday through Friday. Therapy is billed to Medicare Part B. As a part of St. Agnes Home services, Restorative Therapy is available to all residents.

  • Are there apartments available at St. Agnes Home to accommodate couples?

Many of our apartments in Assisted Living and our Care Center are licensed for two people. There is an additional fee for the second person. Many married couples have chosen to make St. Agnes Home their new home.

  • How much does Assisted Living cost?

To meet varying budgets, our apartments range in size and monthly rent.  Apartment variations include Studios, Deluxe Studios, Suites, One-Bedrooms, and Deluxe One-Bedrooms.   Our Care Center has both private and companion rooms. • How will it be determined if my loved one is a fit, both physically and financially, for St. Agnes Home?

Our application includes a history and physical form and a financial disclosure page. The physical must be completed within the past 30 days by a physician. If the potential resident meets the physical and financial criteria, an in-person nursing assessment will be conducted.

  • If my loved one needs Memory Care, is St. Agnes Home appropriate?

We can care for residents with mild cognitive impairment, dementia, and forgetfulness. An assessment is completed prior to admission to determine if we can safely meet your loved one’s needs in an assisted living environment.  St. Agnes Home would not be the appropriate solution for someone who is specifically requiring Memory Care.

  • If my loved one needs Skilled Nursing Care, would St. Agnes Home be appropriate?

We are licensed as Intermediate Care. Intermediate Care is for medically stable residents who require more assistance than alternative healthcare settings such as home health or residential care, but do not qualify for Skilled Nursing. We evaluate each potential resident’s needs on a case-by-case basis to determine if we can care for them at St. Agnes Home. Our licensure excludes memory care and skilled rehab care (tracheotomies, ventilators, IVs). We can provide care to residents with oxygen, catheter, G-Tube, or ostomy needs.

  • Are there different levels of care at St. Agnes Home?

We are an Assisted Living Home offering three levels of care to our residents: Assisted Living, Enhanced Care, and Care Center. All levels provide 24-hour nursing oversight, medication management, daily social activities, housekeeping, laundry, assistance with bathing, and three meals a day. Enhanced Care allows residents to reside in their Assisted Living apartments with more supportive care. Our Care Center provides for complex or unscheduled needs such a, lift to transfer, two-person assist, feeding at meals, and full support of activities of daily living, as needed.
